Hello, I have a 21 month old little girl who has finally discovered she can pick at her dressing for her central line and it comes off. She recently had a repair done one the line and tore that appart so we had to do another repair. I am in the process of sewing her summer outfits so they are tight to her neck and her armpits and putting buttons on her onesies. I was able to find tank top onsies last summer at Walmart but have not been so lucky this summer.
My question for all of you with short gut kids that are past this phase is what else can I use to cover up the dressing safely so it can breath or what other clothing can I use to deter her picking. I have been to all the sights listed and the clothes I have are from these stores or are very similar in design.
Any help would be great.
What kind of dressing are you using, and how are you securing it before you get to the clothing stage? (with paper tape, or mesh vest, etc.) By the way, I think this may be the first use of the wiki community portal, so I'm not sure how likely people will be to see your message. You might also try posting to one of the yahoo groups.
Well, my son is only just discovering how to yank on his line (10 months old), and not so much picking at the dressing, so we're a little behind you. But, I found this site (http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/625160-AA.shtml?lnav=clothing_infant-toddler.html) and they have tank onesies that go up to 34 lbs. I'm actually waiting to receive my 1st order today, which includes regular tank tops and tank onesies to see which works best for Bo. Our plan is to drop him into the shirt as if it were a onesie, thread the line up to the shoulder, secure only one side below y-site with a twist-tie, and wrap a onesie extender around the whole thing.
