Key ideas I got from Dan (not that he necessarily invented them, but he made me appreciate them):

• Cogito Ergo Sum -- from his book Radiant Cool especially

• Cogito Ergo Wrongo -- the key idea that part of what it means to be able to represent something is the capacity to be wrong -- from his book Simple Minds.

• Consciousness as a multiply-self-embedded system, much like the context layer of a simple recurrent network (not really discussed here but a very profound and relevant idea).
